#CheatDayFriday: PurpleBasil; organic food at your doorstep

PurpleBasil was introduced to me via social media and I glanced through their website a couple of times; but due to a lot of challenges never got a chance to explore their food. Their USP, that differentiates them from other food delivery apps like FreshMenu and Innerchef is that their food is really healthy and delicious at the same time. They have very limited options for both Veg & Non-Veg but the food is filling and quite delicious. The correct word would be – different.

Since this is just a food delivery app, I’ll be concentrating more on the food and the presentation. The food was delivered in a duration of about 60 mins from Zomato. They have an excellent rating of 4.3 which increased my curiosity even more. So the food came in two giant white boxes and it was very neatly packed. There was also a note with the food, that gave you an insight of the team. A delicious, refreshing drink in a large kulladh cup with a salad and a main course.

We had ordered the following: The Roots Galore Wrap meal and the Chicken Affroz Rice meal. Coming to the vegetarian meal, there was a kokum and lime juice, a wrap which was so colourful; filled with the freshest veggies in a whole-wheat roti. The salad was a citrus flavoured carrot and cucumber. The wrap tasted alright, I wouldn’t call it delicious; but it was very filling. The salad had lovely flavours and was refreshing and the drink was imaginative too.

The chicken meal had a Mexican touch to it; with organic brown rice and kidney beans with just a little dressing. There was no salad here, but baked nachos which were there but I did not like it.

Both the meals were accompanied with dips made of mayo and herbs; which I thought were delightful.
