Biergarten, A Review

Hey guys,

Hope you liked my last review; here goes the next one.

Biergarten, A Review

I visited this place twice in a span of one month; hence the review is a little more elaborate. Sadly, the area that I am currently living in has very few good places; but this is one of them. The location is prominently located, with the shiny, stylishly placed dual colour logo ‘Biergarten’ welcoming you. The interiors keeping up with the name is like a wide, absolutely breath-taking garden which is spacious and intricately decorated. The interiors are simple and classic; with small flower pots around, giving excessive importance to the greenery that leaves you fresh & charged up for the night.

The restaurant is a duplex, with a very open and spacious seating area. There are comfortable wooden tables and a chairs on both the ground and top floor. The decor is sophisticated with simple golden lights on the staircase and a lush of greenery around giving you a relaxing ambiance. It felt like you have walked into a Hyde Park! I went for dinner both the times, and they played very loud, commercial music which was a little too much because you can’t have a conversation with the other person. Maybe during the day, the music is softer? I’m not sure, but I’d love to visit and know about that!

Like you all know, am a vegetarian and the menu was well curated with starters, continental food, drinks & desserts.

For my drinks, I tried cocktails – ‘Ring a bell‘, a delicious drink mixed with bell peppers, cranberry & lime juice and a good amount of vodka. This was a little spicy for my taste, nevertheless different from anything I have ever had. Otherwise I always stick to ‘Mojito‘ & ‘Caprioska‘ which was good too, and gave a nice kick in just one drink! My colleagues had lots of beer, and as per them, it was good & freshly brewed.

Starting with the appetizers, I had the ‘Saunfiya Paneer Tikka’ which was excessively spiced, and could have been better. The other time I tried the ‘Feta & Garlic Mushrooms’ which were really good. (I eat so much mushroom that I am practically a connoisseur now) Coming to the main course; this place is extremely popular for their thin crust vegetarian & non-vegetarian pizzas. So we did not even want to explore other options. Also, I think pastas are very overdone these days. I ate two varieties – the plain cheese ‘Margherita’ pizza and ‘Spinach & Goat Cheese’ pizza. I gobbled up around 4-5 pieces, but they were so delicious, that I am not even guilty of the extra calories! Each pizza was generously topped with an equal amount of crunch and cheese making it perfect tasting. Visually it looked delish too. Also tried other main course options like the Penne White Sauce pasta at their live counter; which had a perfect balance of cheese & salt. Could not stop myself but end with Dal Makhni & Rice; I LITERALLY can eat it everyday, it was so good.

I did not enjoy the desserts a lot, they could have been better. Tried the chocolate pops, raspberry pannacotta and various other things.

Over-all, the staff was polite, the service could have been faster. Biergarten, is an experience in itself. Chilly Bangalore nights can be best enjoyed here with some fresh beer options, cocktails and a variety of options for finger food.
